I hope that most of you are taking some time this week to do something fun or that you're simply getting some rest from the hustle and bustle of your daily responsibilities. I'm actually working a few days this week and thought this would be a great time to post to my blog.
I want to address the importance of attendance. There is a small blurb on our website's homepage regarding attendance. It reads as so, "Did you know that research shows there is a direct correlation between school attendance and academic performance? Absence from school is often the greatest single cause of poor performance. In addition to attendance impacting student achievement, it is also an indicator for CCRPI. Six (6) or more school absences has an adverse effect on our CCRPI score. These are just a couple of reasons why it's important for students to attend school and to be on time."
Please allow me now to highlight the benefits of school attendance.
In summary, by making sure your child attends school consistently and on time, you are not only making attendance a priority, but you are also helping to support his/her success in school.
Enjoy your week.

- By attending school, children learn how to be good citizens by participating in the school community, as well as learn valuable social skills.
- Children who have regular attendance are more likely to pass reading and math assessments than those who have inconsistent attendance.
- Parents' commitment to school attendance sends a message to their children that education is a priority and that attendance is a vital part of their educational success.
- Regular attendance helps children feel better about school, as well as themselves, and will help them succeed in high school, college, and at work.
In summary, by making sure your child attends school consistently and on time, you are not only making attendance a priority, but you are also helping to support his/her success in school.
Enjoy your week.
